The Journey That Started It All
Everything began with a journey.
While traveling to India for a friend's wedding, my wife and I met Ali — a young man with a bright spirit who welcomed us into his world, showing us hidden corners of the city aboard his colorful tuk-tuk.
One afternoon, Ali took us somewhere special: a traditional block-printing workshop, where centuries-old techniques are still alive today.
Natural materials — dyes extracted from plants, minerals, earth, and seeds — were used to create vivid patterns, each piece telling a story, each fabric holding a soul.
We were instantly captivated: by the colors, the textures, the spirit of resilience and joy that filled the air.
In that moment, María Rocoto was born — not as just a brand, but as a celebration of authenticity, craftsmanship, and the wild spirit that lives within all of us.
Our first collection honors this beginning:
Handcrafted by Indian artisans, dyed with rich vegetable pigments, stitched with 100% cotton, and woven with the raw beauty of tradition.
This is not fast fashion.
This is heritage, carried forward with pride.
This is Chapter One.
